Finished!!

The nursery is finally done!! Drew and my dad put the crib together on Saturday and we put all the furniture back in the room and hung things on the walls. I still have some finishing touches to do....like trying to get the paint off the carpet??? I've also ordered some letters to spell out her name to put on the wall above her crib and I need to find a rug. I LOVE her bedding and seeing it all put together!! Sometimes I just go in there in there and sit in the chair and try to imagine what it will be like when she gets here. Not too much longer!! I'm 32 weeks!! Time is flying by!

The nursery is painted and I'm (patiently) waiting for it all to be put together! Drew didn't feel up to trying to tackle the task of putting the crib together--after doing the nightstand....so I'm hoping he gets inspired one night this week or over the weekend. Slowly but surely it's all coming together. I seem to be the only one in a hurry to get it all done. :) I know I have plenty of time....but I can't wait to see the "finished" product! I have a few little "projects" to work on this week too. Here are some pictures of the before, during and after painting. The painting took awhile since the whole room--ceiling included was painted khaki when we built our house. Drew and my dad painted the ceiling white and then painted the walls pink and chocolate brown. The last step was cutting and painting the chair rail and then putting it up. It was a lot of hard work....but I just LOVE how it turned out!!

No Nursery Yet.....

Thanks to Hurricane Ike, the nursery was put on hold last weekend. (Hopefully we--or I should really say "they" :) can finish it up this weekend.) Drew left Saturday morning for Houston to help with the Hurricane Recovery Teams with HEB. They basically went to help get the stores that were able, up and running again--somewhat. Since there are many people still in Houston, they need the basics. It was a long four days for him...doing manual labor that he's not used to doing. They had to throw out all the food that was spoiled and clean out the cases and then they helped restock the shelves when a shipment would arrive---at all hours of the night. They moved his team all over the Houston area. Being without power and water had taken a toll on many people and I think that he's really glad that he got to help those in need. I know it was a difficult job, and I'm so proud of him for doing it!! Here are a few pictures that he took--ice, charcoal, and gas were the things people wanted most...and there was little or none to sell.

Ava Claire

Here are a few pictures from yesterday. Amber and Ava came over to see how the nursery was coming along. Ava wasn't interested in smiling for the camera....she was trying to pop bubbles! She is a cutie and quite a chatty patty! We're figuring out what she's saying more and more. My favorite is, "Oh, I made a mess!" We're anxious to see how she'll do in sharing the spotlight with her new little cousin!

Here's the finished bathroom!! I made the shower curtain and the curtains--and I'm glad that they are finally done! We've been working on the nursery this weekend...well not really me--but I did do some of the painter's tape. :) My dad and Drew have been painting and it's really coming along. I can't wait to see it all finished! They still need to finish it up next weekend...but I think it'll be done by then. I had a doctor's appointment on Friday...everything looked great! I go back again in 4 weeks and then will start going every 2 weeks after that. Other than sleepless nights...(because she kicks and squirms ALL night long), I'm feeling great! I guess she's just getting me prepared for when she gets here!

We're Growing!!

So....here's what you've all been waiting for!!! My little "cantaloupe" is looking more like a watermelon! I'm almost 28weeks (Wednesday) and counting down the days until she gets here! I have a doctor's appointment this Friday--just a check-up. I also finished the shower curtain and a little curtain for the window in the bathroom and will post a picture of that sometime soon. Her bedding came in last week--(I LOVE it!!)--and the crib is on its way! Hopefully we'll paint her room this weekend. I'm ready to get everything all put together!!
