7 Months!

Gracyn is 7 months old today!! What a big girl she is!! We don't go back to the doctor for a check up until 9 months. So, her "unofficial" weight is: 19lbs. 6 oz.
She continues to be such a joy! She is such a happy baby now and just grins and smiles all day long. She really likes being out and about and running errands. It's so much fun to watch her learn new things and she is really starting understand us now--somewhat. (She knows her name! :) She's just about ready to crawl and our lives will never be the same. We're already getting a good taste of it now! We've baby proofed the house and we "think" we're ready for what comes next, but we really haven't got a clue! :)

She is eating so much better...she can really put it away! She seems to prefer vegetables to fruit...she definitely did NOT get that from her mama! :) She eats a whole bowl full of oatmeal or rice cereal every morning and just can't get enough of the stuff! She's tried avocado and LOVED it and liked real bananas and hates the baby food bananas?? I think it just took her a while to get used to food and what to do with it. She's still a HUGE fan of the Puffs and I think those really helped her learn how to move food around in her mouth. She still won't take a bottle. When we try and give it to her now she doesn't scream anymore, just chews on it. She is drinking out of a straw though, so we may go that route if I have to be gone for a while.

She is pulling herself up and trying to stand up. I think we're going to have to lower her crib again because she's just so long and is so tall when she stands up. She doesn't stay still and is never quiet!

Gracyn doesn't stay still for long....

She is sleeping through the night.....sometimes I hear her in the middle of the night, but she gets herself back to sleep within a few minutes. It's so nice that she can find her paci and put it back in herself now. I keep three in her crib so she'll always be able to find one. :) Our biggest challenge these days seems to be nap time....what a struggle!! She goes down just fine, but is up again in about 30 minutes. Then she'll be ready for another nap about an hour and a half later. So, we're "crying it out" and it's killing me! I think it's working. At such a young age, she sure does rule the roost! She knows which cries will get the most attention. It's incredible!!

She can put in her paci all by herself!!

She loves going swimming. We just joined a fitness club minutes from our house and we've been enjoying the pool. (Haven't worked out yet though....I'm nervous to leave her in the nursery. We haven't even left her at church yet! I know.....first time parents...) Gracyn just loves the water and has a great time splashing and kicking around. She does take a GREAT nap after that! :) Maybe that's why moms take their kids to swim daily in the summer?? :)
Still no teeth yet...though she's working on it. I keep thinking I'll see one pop up any day, but nothing yet.

Mover and a shaker!

Gracyn is all over the place! I know it's only going to get worse once she really starts crawling, but she's getting pretty quick at scooting and rolling around. I can't leave her alone for a second because she's into everything! And everything she finds goes straight into her mouth! LOVE this new phase! :) She really doesn't like her exersaucer too much anymore because she can't move around. She spins around and gives everything a good chew and then wants out. It's too bad, because I really like it! :)

New High Chair

Gracyn got a new high chair and just loves it! I love it too! It's so much easier than the Bumbo that I'd been using to feed her. I'd been waiting to get a high chair so I could research which one I'd like best. So far so good! We put her in a high chair at a restaurant the other day and she did so well! I think she really liked sitting with us like a big girl! She ate her puffs and had a good old time! Gracyn is now "tolerating" cereal. It's still quite a fiasco trying to feed her and she rarely opens her mouth wide enough to get a bite in. I have to sing to her while I'm feeding her so she'll smile and I can get a bite in. But, it's better than before when she kept her mouth tightly shut and spit it out and gagged whenever I tried to put anything in. We're getting there! :) She could eat her Puffs and the Mum Mums all day long though! Who would've thought that I'd have a picky eater! :) I gave her a teething biscuit while I was fixing dinner. She was a mess afterwards....but I got dinner ready without a whining baby to deal with! She did start to cry when she dropped it because she didn't know where it had gone and how to put it back in her mouth. I just love her to pieces!!

Inchworm!

That's what Gracyn looks like these days, an inchworm, as she's trying to move along. It's so cute to watch her! She'll stretch her arms out and then pull up her torso and stretch out again. She's off her activity mat in no time! I have to really watch her now when I put her down because she doesn't stay in one place for too long. She loves to go after water bottles for some reason. She really works hard to get it. It won't be long now before she's crawling! Our lives are about to change....

Pool Time!

Gracyn LOVES the water. She really enjoys her baths, so we weren't surprised that she loved swimming! We had fun with her in the pool this weekend and she did too!

Jumperoo!!

Gracyn is loving the jumperoo these days!! She's a pro at bouncing! It sure is a nice break for my arms!!

Cousin Fun!!

We sure do love it when Cousin Ava comes over to play!! Gracyn just watches her every move and can be entertained for quite a while. We have to repeat, "Be gentle!" a lot because Ava just loves her Baby Gracyn SO much!!

Ava loves to give Gracyn hugs....and sometimes Gracyn hugs back with a handful of Ava's hair!:)
