Well....we're off to New York City for my little brother's wedding....hopefully. Thanks to the Swine flu, we're debating whether or not to take this trip. The last time we were in NYC was when Drew and I were first married. I'm sure this trip will be a little different now that we have little Miss Gracyn Kate! I'm glad we've had her first flight--but this flu scare has me on edge. I've been trying to rustle up some warmer clothes for her to wear while we're in New York City since it will be chilly there and she's already out grown all her winter clothes. I got some great deals on some clearance things--like $3 for an entire outfit!--since she'll only wear them on this trip. I'm sure it will be a trip to remember....if we end up going! We're praying that God will give us wisdom to make the right decision.

5 Months!
Gracyn is 5 months old today!! It's really going by SO fast!! She is so much fun and her little personality is really coming out! She's interacting with us more and more and it's so fun to watch her learn new things. She weighs over 17 pounds and continues to grow faster and faster it seems. She's already wearing 9 month clothes! She's teething and drooling like crazy. I'm wondering when her first tooth will make an appearance. She likes to make noise and squeal....making it difficult in church! :)
She's still a great sleeper...at night and naps. The swaddle is still our saving grace....not quite ready to give it up yet, but it's coming!! We just love her to pieces!

Sitting Pretty!
Look at this big girl!! She's been sitting up on her own and looks like such a big girl! When her arms get tired of holding herself up, she doesn't know what to do and starts to cry. I don't think she knows that she can fall over. She can keep her balance pretty well too. I'm just ready for her to be able to sit in a high chair at a restaurant. We're in this in-between phase where she won't sit in her carrier anymore and wants to be out of it. But at a restaurant, I have to hold her making it difficult to eat with one hand!
Gracyn's been making this new noise lately....she's blowing bubbles and making a buzz sound. It's too cute!!
We're turning a corner with tummy time too....she really doesn't mind it too much anymore. HURRAY!!

Grandmom and Grandad's Visit
Gracyn got a visit from her Grandmom and Grandad last week. We had so much fun with them here! Nanaw (Gracyn's Great-Grandmother) was supposed to come too, but due to the bad weather, she didn't get to make the trip. We were so sad and Gracyn really wants to meet her!! Hopefully we can arrange another trip soon. We spent the weekend just relaxing and loving on Gracyn. We wish they didn't live so far away and we got to see them more often. Graycn misses them already! Hurry up and come back to see us!!
On Saturday we drove up to Boerne and Gracyn got to go to her first car show....Corvettes!! We didn't even know it was going on--lucky for us! Ha ha! She loved every minute of it!! :)
Drew looks great carrying the diaper bag!
This little girl LOVES her sling!! I think she'd stay in it all day if I let her. Unfortunately, hauling around at least 17 lbs. isn't as much fun for me!
Bath time is one her favorite times! She's started splashing around like crazy these days and just squeals with laughter!

Feet!
Someone found her feet!! Gracyn is rocking and rolling all over her mat! She rolled from her back to her front once now, but I don't think it will be long before she's rolling back and forth. She's going from side to side all the time. She scoots all around and has a grand ol' time! She's even liking tummy time a bit more. It's still not a favorite activity, but she goes a little longer now without screaming. Pretty soon, I don't think I'll be able to keep her on her tummy if I wanted to! I think our swaddling days are numbered...I'm really dreading that transition!! It's the magic key to getting her to sleep! I'll savor it while it lasts....

Gracyn's 6 Weeks Pictures
I haven't posted the pictures that Sarah took of Gracyn when she was 6 weeks old. They are so good I thought I'd share them!! I don't think she's really changed much since then....other than growing and increasing her rolls! You can see more of Sarah's amazing work at www.sjphotos.net!

This was Gracyn's very first smile! I was so glad that we were able to catch it!!

Remember When....
I don't really realize how quickly Gracyn is growing until I look at her pictures from when she was first born. Here she is at her first bath....
This is her now. She's gotten SO big!! Look at all those fat rolls!!
She loves bath time and just smiles and talks to me the whole time. She really loves getting all lotioned up. I love it too because she smells so good afterwards. Who doesn't love the smell of a fresh, clean baby??

First Flight
Well....Gracyn got her wings!! Now that our first flight is out of the way....we're ready to travel the world! JUST KIDDING!! I'm SO exhausted! She did SO well...MUCH better than I expected...to the point that the other passengers commented on how good she was and some didn't even know there was a baby on board! YEA Gracyn! We had two short flights each way--one from San Antonio to Dallas and then Dallas to OKC. She fed during all but one take off and sucked her paci when she wasn't eating. She always slept on each flight too. There were a few adventurous moments--like a poopy diaper as soon as we boarded the plane. But really, all in all...she did SO good! I was so nervous about how she'd do. All I can say is that I never want to do it alone. It really took the both of us to anticipate her every need and keep her quiet and happy! New York City...here we come! I'm SO glad that we'll have my parents with us for that flight! We had a great, short visit with Drew's family in Oklahoma City. We didn't take too many pictures, but here are some of Gracyn with her cousin Zayne. She was SO excited to meet her new baby cousin!
We flew up there for an engagement party for Drew's little sister, Dallas. Here we are before we left for the party. Unfortunately, Gracyn was worn out from her day of traveling and we didn't stay too long. It was WAY past her bedtime.
