This & That

Seriously, this poor guy really misses his nap routine!
Weekend family run! We went to Stone Oak Park.

The kids love to climb up on this big rock.
A visit to the dentist! Great reports on both kiddos--NO cavities! Yay!!
This poor little guy got a tummy bug from one of the birthday parties we went to . There were a lot of people that got it--thankfully no one else in our family got it.
Daddy had a work dinner, so we went to eat at Chili's after gymnastics. We sent him this picture telling him that we missed him!
And then another one as we were reading our bedtime stories to say goodnight.
A little Halloween crafting for a friend's girlies for their trick-or-treat buckets.
Afternoon bike rides/run with this guy before we get Gracyn from school--because we can!!! Next year I won't have this luxury--so I'm soaking up every minute with him!!

September Birthdays

It seems we have a lot of friends with birthdays in September! We've had a blast celebrating with them!
Piper celebrated her 6th birthday at a place called Planet Party. There were video game, bouncy houses and other toys to play with. Hudson LOVED the basketball game and that it was a small one that he could make baskets on!

 Gracyn and Alexia

Hudson took Kelsey for a spin...

We ALL had a great time!

Alexia had her party where they take dance. They all had so much fun dancing around.

Gracyn and Anabel. Poor Alexia got sick and threw up right after this picture was taken. Party over.:(

The Darter girls had their party at a horse ranch.
They practiced lassoing horses.

They decorated horse shoes for good luck.
Gracyn was SO excited to get to ride a horse!

Then we went to her new little friend, Aly's 6th birthday party at Chuck-e-Cheese.

She picked Gracyn to go into the ticket booth with her. Gracyn was THRILLED!!

She was pretty proud of all the tickets she won at this game.

What fun we had celebrating with our friends!! Happy Birthday Piper, Alexia, Ainsley, Addison, Ella and Aly!!!

Pirate Day at Krispy Kreme!

We went to Krispy Kreme for our annual free donuts for Pirate Day. If you dress up like a pirate, you get a dozen free donuts! We met some of our friends there after school.
Free donuts and friends...what could be better than that?? :)

This & That

We went for a run downtown so the kids could play on their favorite playground. Turns out they are doing construction and are building something new there and are planning on tearing it down. :( There was an opening in the fence around it--and others were playing too, so we joined them. They were so happy to get to play one last time!
Me and my girl!
Family selfie!
I think he just helped me lick a bowl here!
These two LOVE playing with Pop. Poor guy doesn't have a chance!
We went to eat lunch with Drew on Labor Day. We got to take a tour of the warehouse at HEB and got to go in the FREEZING cold freezer!
You can't go to Cracker Barrel without sitting in the rockers and playing a game of checkers!
Gracyn has been trying to teach Hudson how to pump himself on the swings. He's almost got it...
But then gets all pouty that he can't do it as well as Gracyn and get as high. Little brother problems...
She asked me to take her picture next to this huge pumpkin at HEB. Love this sweet girlie!

School Days

Goodness, this real school gig sure is an adjustment! I mean, I was used to getting up at 7am and having until 9:00 to get the kids ready and to school--two days a week. Now, I'm up at 6:15 and have to have Gracyn all ready to catch the bus by 6:50! Every.single.day!!! We're ALL exhausted and trying to get used to our new "normal." I will say that I am SO productive in the mornings now. I get so much done since I'm up and around so much earlier. I'm also sleeping really good at night too since I'm SO productive ALL day! Speaking of sleeping, this little guy is having a hard time getting his naps in these days. I look back and see this often now. I feel the same way, Buddy--I miss nap time too!!
So, Gracyn decided that she wanted to try riding the bus to school. The stop is just a few houses down the street and it comes about 10-15 minutes earlier than I'd take her. Her stop is the last one. We thought we'd give it a try. And...she's a FAN!! Hudson tried to get on the first day to "take a look inside." Ha! Turns out, one of her new best little friends from her class lives down the street and rides the bus too. They were SO excited!! They're already planning play dates! :) It's so sweet, she saves Gracyn a seat every morning.
I'll admit, I cried when she got on and the bus pulled away. She's just a baby--well, to me anyways! I forgot to tell her where to go when the bus got to school since it would be a different place than I dropped her off. She said she was a little nervous about that, but realized she'd just follow everyone else and they'd show her where to go. I was so proud of her for thinking of that--but a little sad too because she figured it out on her own and didn't need me. :( My baby is growing up!!! The best part about the bus is all the time I save. Hudson and I go run about 4-5 miles and we're home before we would be if I'd taken her. It's a win/win all around!
This guy likes all the extra time we have in the mornings and gets his bike rides in.
Spirit day! They wear their spirit shirts every Friday. GO LIONS!!
I had chocolate chip cookies waiting for her when she got home from school one day--isn't that what I'm supposed to do? :)

So, at Kinder Round-Up back in the spring, we got a tour of the cafeteria and the lunch line--and Gracyn decided then and there that she would be bringing her lunch every day and did NOT want to buy her lunch from school. I told her that was fine with me. We packed her lunch on the first day of school. When she came home that afternoon, she asked me where her wallet was. I asked her why, and she asked how much lunch costs because she wanted to buy her lunch. I said it was $2.05 and she was certain that she had enough in her wallet to buy it. I told her that we'd put money in her account and she wouldn't have to use her money to buy lunch--and then I had to explain what an "account" was. :) Sweet girl!! So, she bought her lunch--cheese nachos--and was SO excited!! It went well, and she said she'd do it again. They have baked potato some days and she wants to buy that--but I told her she'd have to fix it herself. And she said, "You mean I have to cook it!!?" I told her no, she'd have to fix it herself with the butter, cheese and sour cream. She thought for a minute and said, "Well, how about you just have lunch with me that day and you can fix it for me?" :) They also give out samples of things the cafeteria fixes and she's quick to hop in line and get her one. I guess all our trips to Costco have prepared her! Ha!

Hudson's 1st Flag Football Game

Hudson LOVES to practice his football skills! We toss and catch A LOT around here! Drew has been working with him on throwing and stepping with his foot. He's SO cute to watch!!
Here's our little star!! He plays on the Lil' Aggies team.
Here's Hudson's biggest fan!!
They were so cute running through the tunnel. Hudson said it was "really cool!"
They start each game with a prayer.
My pictures were taken with my phone and aren't that great...but here they are. Hudson is #12.
He only sat down on the field once--and that was at the end of the game. I yelled for him to get up and get the flag, but he told me it was too hot and he was tired!
Our coach was looking mighty handsome... :)
"Good Game" hand shakes at the end. They don't keep score, but Drew thinks we won. :)
He's playing with Upwards Sports. Each week they have a memory verse that they have to memorize. This week it's "Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do." Ecclesiastes 4:9. Over the weekend, Drew asked Hudson to go upstairs and clean his room and he recited his verse back to him and said that it means he needs to help him clean up. Little stinker! :)
It was a GREAT first game for coach and our little player!!
