Chalking it Up!

I got them a new box of side walk chalk--and you'd think it was Christmas...they were SO excited!! It is a pretty neat box--with 48 different colors and they are really bright too. We've been having a blast drawing, coloring and creating!
It's the only way I've been able to get them to go for a run these days. I bribe them with getting to play with chalk as soon as we get back. It's working like a charm--so far! :) It also does wonders for motivating them to clean up their messes before we can go outside to play!!

They love for me to trace them and make their person. Hudson was loving that his person had striped shorts on too!!
Gracyn was mad at me for making her hair brown and curly--she wanted it yellow and straight. And, I traced her shirt in purple and she wanted it pink. So much for making it look just like her...
She got over it pretty quickly once we changed the hair and made a rainbow shirt with her "faborite" colors!
We've been having a blast out on the driveway!

Who doesn't LOVE being squeezed to death by their sister??
Can these two be any sweeter??

They love pulling into the driveway and seeing their creations. Gracyn is so worried that it's going to rain and her masterpieces will disappear. I told her that it would probably happen sometime, and then we'd get to draw new things. I'm waiting for the meltdown when the drops start falling....

Fiesta Float Parade

Gracyn had her Fiesta Float Parade at school. She requested a Peter Pan float--so that's what this Mommy got to work on. I started by making the ship out of cardboard. I taped it together with duct tape, but realized that she wouldn't be able to paint over that. So, I decided to paper mache it with newspaper so it'd be smooth. But the paint might not cover up some of the newspaper, so painted it white so she could then paint it whatever color she wanted to.Whew! They both had a great time painting!

He may have had a little too much fun with the paint...

I'm the first to admit that I spent WAY too much time on this. But, the look on her face when it was done and the countless times she squealed, "This is so FUN!" as we were working on it made it all worth it! :)
Taking it for a test drive.

I thought about putting it up for safe keeping and letting Hudson use it next year because he'll have to make one. He could just repaint it and we'd be done. But, as soon as we got home, Gracyn started playing with it...and continued to play with it all night and first thing the next morning. So, if she wrecks it, I'll know just how to make another one. :) Because chances are, if I save it for Hudson to use---he won't want it!!

Little Stinker

Hudson was so excited when we told him that he wasn't going to have to take swim lessons anymore. On his last day, he was a total rock star--he floated on his back, swam from stand to stand without ANY tears!! Little stinker!! I guess he went all out since he knew it was his last one!
Gracyn has learned how to take pictures with my phone--and she takes about a million at a time! Not sure that was such a good idea??? She LOVES it!!
Hudson's beloved striped shorts had just gotten out of the dryer and they were reunited. His love for them is quite strong!!
When he gets mad, he stomps up the stairs and sits on a step with his arms crossed. I don't remember what he was upset about and had just missed his arms crossed. It's SO hard not to laugh at him!
I found him out of his bed once again. This time it was easier to spot him. He took his blanket and lovey with him. I put him back in bed, but when he got up in the middle of the night to go potty he must've gone back because that's where he ended up again the next morning!
He fell on the driveway and skinned up his forehead, nose and knee. The knee was bloody--and he went into a tizzy! After a Toy Story band-aid, he was all better. The next day I picked him up to wash his hands after he went potty at a store and he looked in the mirror and said, "Watt happen to my bace?!" He didn't even realize that he'd skinned it up! ha!

This & That

Here's a little bit of this and that....
We went to Piper's little brother, Tucker's, 1st birthday party. The kids had a great time. I'm not sure why I only got pictures of Hudson??

We got a new jogging stroller since the front wheel fell off the other one--(while we were on a run!). Pop helped Daddy put it together. They had another little helper too. (Side note: They are getting REALLY heavy to push--100+ pounds with the stroller!! A run with them is a total body work out!! They are also not as excited to go anymore and sitting that close together only lasts for so long--3 miles is the max!)
 Gracyn colored with Meme.

I went to check on Hudson the other night and he was asleep with his baseball cap on. Such a funny little guy!
I found these pictures on my phone, and I don't think I ever posted them. We went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall, and the kids just walked right up and sat on his lap. Gracyn was worried that he wouldn't know what to get her so she was glad she got another visit in. When it was time to leave, Hudson wouldn't go. He kept asking the Bunny, "Where's my new Hot Wheels tars?" He thought he was getting them right then--ha! Then we went to play on the little playground. The kids had a blast!
Not only does Gracyn plan her outfits for the day....but she's started picking out her pajamas for the next night as well! Love the socks tucked inside each house shoe! Ha!

Bucket of Tars

Hudson keeps all his cars in a green bucket. That bucket goes everywhere with him. If he's upstairs, it's upstairs with him. If he's downstairs, he needs you to help carry it down to be with him too. He even sleeps with it.
He's got quite a collection now--and he can tell you where he's gotten just about every one of them too. I thought Gracyn had a good memory....Hudson seems to be following in her footsteps!
He likes to line them up and make "tafik" (traffic).
He sure does love all his "tars!"

Disney on Ice

We surprised Gracyn and Piper and took them to see Disney on Ice--and goodness were they excited!! They were thrilled to just be riding in the same car together!!
This was the look on Gracyn's face when Ariel came skating out. She was so excited to see all of the princesses!!
But, she said that The Little Mermaid was her favorite. I think I'd have to agree--it was pretty cute! It was hard for my phone to get good pictures of the show with the lights so bright. This was the only decent one I got with the lights dim.
Does it look like she's having a great time, or what??
These two are the sweetest little princesses and the best of friends!

My Little Cuties

Gracyn and Hudson put on a fashion show the other day. They've been doing this a lot lately and it's just hysterical to see what they come up with! Here is Rapunzel and her pirate/cowboy???
Here's one with her wig on. What a beauty! (If you look close you can see the chapstick ALL over her face!)
And one with Hudson in his get up. (Yep, he's got his striped shorts on!!)
One night I went in to check on them before I went to bed and Hudson wasn't in his bed. I looked in the bathroom, the playroom, Gracyn's room, his closet--and I was beginning to get a little panicked because I couldn't imagine where he could be. And then, we looked behind is rocking chair and he was curled up in the corner--fast asleep. Silly boy!
After his bath, we were trying to get his pjs on him, and he put his underwear on his head. We ALL got a good laugh at that one!
CUTE, CUTE kiddos!!

Gracyn Kate

Oh how I LOVE this sweet girl!! She is growing up so quickly!! I'm so thankful that I have another year with her before she has to start Kindergarten! She would go next year if she was old enough--she's so ready!!
Her best little friend, Piper, came over to play. I couldn't even tell there was another child in our house--that's how well they ALL played together. They were so sweet to include Hudson with everything they did..dress up, tea party, picnics. Piper's mom and I went to high school together & it's been fun to reconnect.
She loves this hat! She calls it her Strawberry Shortcake hat. And that shirt she's wearing is her new Peter Pan shirt. She wants to wear it every.single.day! I think we may have another case of "striped shorts" on our hands!
She's a new fan of swinging while standing up. She's almost able to pump herself on the swings too...she's getting there and is SO proud of herself.
She's still a fashionista! She's getting the details down now too. I love how she tucks her panties into her pants and gives herself several options and loads of accessories to match!! Don't know what purpose the books played though...
She loves a good mani/pedi!
Hudson woke her up early...she wasn't quite ready to get up yet. This happens a lot.....

The costumes came in for Gracyn's dance recital...they are the cutest chickens you've ever seen!!!

Her newest obsession is Max and Ruby. I found these guys on Ebay and talk about a BIG surprise!! She was THRILLED!! Hudson got Max and Gracyn got Ruby--she wasn't a big fan of that decision! Peter Pan is still in her number one spot, but Max and Ruby are a close second--followed by Scooby Doo. And of course, anything Princess is an absolute favorite!!

Blowing me a kiss!

Love our sweet Gracyn Kate!
