Trunk or Treat

"Trunk or Treat!!"
Our church had their annual Trunk or Treat on Friday night. This was the first year that Gracyn really "got it". She loved playing the games...
...and just being with Ava...
--and of course getting the treats! Gracyn got the hang of things quickly and learned how to "help herself!"
Hudson was just interested in picking out a candy and putting it in his pumpkin--or his mouth.
He enjoyed the festivities in his stroller--much to my relief! It was hard enough trying to keep up with Gracyn and Ava!
Gracyn wanted to hold Ava's hand all night long!
Here they are......Woody and Jessie!
Gracyn and Hudson were both in love with the glow sticks they got.
Ava choose some silly teeth--Gracyn thought they were "too sca-wee!"
Here's proof that Towns (Mickey Mouse)....
and Brier (a monkey) were there too.
Happy Halloween!!

Gracyn's Pen Pal

Gracyn LOVES mail! Ever since I signed her up for the sticker club and she was getting stickers in the mail on a daily basis for a while--she was hooked. Now, we pass off anything we can for her to think she got mail.:) So, when I read that Meredith over at The Tichenor Family Blog was organizing Mini Mail: Itty Bitty Pen Pals, I knew I had to sign Gracyn up.

Gracyn got paired with sweet little Liza from California. After emailing with her mom, we realized that Gracyn and Liza were pretty much the same little girl! They are so much alike--from curly hair, to little brothers, to having the same favorites, and both turning 3 next month! Gracyn had so much fun picking out Liza's treats!
Ready to mail!
She was beyond excited when Daddy came home with her package in hand!
Here she is opening up her goodies.
She wears this bracelet on a daily basis now--this little girl LOVES her accessories!
This butterfly bubble wand likes to join us in the bathtub! I think she'd blow bubbles ALL day long if I'd let her! :)
Hudson wanted to check out all her goodies.
And he had lots of fun with the butterfly stickies on the back door. (Thanks for sharing, Sissy!)
Modeling her new knee high Dora socks.
A good look at all of Gracyn's treats. Gracyn loves her pen pal Liza and asks every day if she can come over to play. She really wants for Liza to come to her birthday party. Too bad California is a bit too far from San Antonio!! Thank you, Liza, for our October treats!!

Getting Crafty

I have found so many cute ideas on Pinterest, but finding the time to do them seems to be the challenge!! I saw this wreath for Halloween and knew I wanted one for my front door. It was a bit time consuming (AND MESSY!) to make by having to cut the burlap into strips and tie them on the wire ring, but I love the way it turned out.
I wish that I'd used a bigger ring though. I got black and white houndstooth ribbon for Halloween and got a brown and white polka dot one to change it for Thanksgiving. I've already got another idea for a Christmas wreath....if I could just find the time to work on it! :) (I've still got a month to get it ready!)

Then, I decided to make a quick little treat for Gracyn's class for Halloween. And...I kind of got a little carried away once I started it because I kept thinking of more and more ideas to add to it. I just traced a pumpkin onto scrapbook paper and cut them out. I printed the message on the polka dot piece. Then, I added the green tulle stem and stapled that to the orange piece. I sewed them with the sewing machine using a zig zag stitch, filled them with M&Ms and sewed them shut.
Gracyn decorated them with stickers that I downloaded from a site that I had pinned. I printed them off on a full sheet of sticker paper and cut them out.
They were also a little time consuming. But, in the end, I think they turned out super cute! The elementary school teacher in me was having a ball with this little project! I think I may be on to something for every holiday--they're so easy to make!
Happy Halloween!!

Fun at the Park!

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL!! We are playing at the park any chance we get--and we are ALL loving it!! This little park is near our house and I love it! There is never anyone else there--AND they have bathrooms (nice & clean)! It's tucked away in the back of a neighborhood, but it's a city park.
We stopped and got us an Icee. (In case we got thirsty!:)
These two aren't the biggest fans of swings. Hudson will tolerate it longer than Gracyn will. I was surprised that I got Gracyn to even get in it. After a few swings, she was "ALL DONE!"
By the end of our visit, Hudson was a pro at climbing up the ramp.
Gracyn learned quickly how to pull herself up using the rope.
"WEEEEEEEEEE!"
Peek-a-Boo!

Color with Me!

Gracyn has been so sweet to Hudson lately. The other day, she asked him to come color with her. He was THRILLED with the invitation!
"Color with us Mommy!"
Hope this isn't an indication of what's to come--crayons stay on the paper!!
Such a sweet big sister!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

We went to the local pumpkin patch again this year. As soon as we got there, Gracyn took off in the maze.
This little guy thought it was so much fun!
Peek-a-Boo!
Let me just say again that it's next to impossible to get a good picture of BOTH of them!
Of course, she has her sunglasses on!
Here's a blast from the past....
What a difference a year makes! I can't believe how much they've both grown!
Here's Gracyn's "smile" for the camera these days--and she likes to turn her head away!....ugh!
What a little cutie!!
I love my babies!
