Making their Day!

Tuesdays and Fridays are BIG days around here....the trash truck makes an appearance--and these two couldn't be happier!! I don't mind Fridays so much, but Tuesdays are tough. It comes right when I'm in the middle of getting ready to get out the door to get Gracyn to school by 9:00. The last thing I want to do is stand around and watch the trash truck drive by and pick up our trash can. But, it brings them SO much joy and excitement--how can I not?

Gracyn had Minnie Mouse with her so she could watch too. They stand there and wait for it to come closer.
Then, as it gets closer, they wave with all their might!

They run down the steps to get a better look.

The driver usually gives them a little honk when he's done that just makes their day!
Sometimes, it's just the little things in life! :)

Random Pictures

Here are some random pictures that never got posted.

Gracyn asks us to take her picture just about every time we go to the park these days....just saying "HI!"
He was mad that part of his sucker fell on the ground and I was trying to keep him away from me because he was so sticky!
Just chillin' in the toy bin--the shades and bib combo just kills me! Ha!
Good "quality" bonding time playing on Mommy's phone!

Zoo, Take 2

So, I decided to be brave myself and try the zoo again. This time we went by ourselves--AND I kept both of them in the stroller for the most part. Things went MUCH smoother. I couldn't get a picture of both of them together on the Komodo Dragon--but hey, that's the story of my life these days. At least I got one of each! :)

"I'm SO Bave!"

Both Gracyn and Hudson have become so brave over the past few weeks. I'm not sure what it is...but they are trying all kinds of new things. Gracyn is the type of person that doesn't try something unless she knows she will be successful at it. I wonder where she gets that....my mom reminds me often that she's my spitting image. She told me the other day that she's forgotten stories about me, but when I tell her something that Gracyn has done, it will remind her of a memory of me.

At the park in our neighborhood, I could never get Gracyn to climb up the tower to get onto the playscape. I would even offer to help her--"No thank you!" was the response I always got. Then, out of the blue one day, I saw her do it--all by herself. And, now--that's all she wants to do while shouting out to me, " I did it!"

She's so proud of herself!
This little guy just likes to hang from anything he can find. I really have to keep a close eye on him these days...no fear!
He tries to climb up the rock wall all by himself, but he still needs my help.
He no longer needs my hand or finger when sliding down...sniff, sniff.
We went running at another park over the weekend, and Gracyn LOVED climbing up to the top of this rock. She'll do it all by herself too!
She does need some help getting down though...but isn't scared to fall into Drew's arms.
Hudson did some rock climbing too. :)
I'm so thankful we have two "bave" kiddos! :)

Playing in the Sprinkler

We let the kids play in the sprinkler in the backyard. Hudson was NOT a fan! He just stood there--crying, as the sprinkler hosed him down.
Drew and I were cracking up! (I know, we're awful parents...)
All he kept crying was, "whet!, whet!" as he walked over to me.
This little girl was having a great time though! She contemplated going down the wet slide, but chickened out.
Hudson was much happier once we took off his wet shorts and he could watch from a distance.

Just ONE.....

I just want ONE family picture where we're all smiling AND looking at the camera! Is that too much to ask....I guess so--here's what we got.
Hudson's eyes are closed.
Now, Gracyn isn't looking...
Just as my dad was snapping away to get our picture, Towns walked right up to him and pegged him--point blank--in an "unlucky" place. Drew and I could hardly contain ourselves--it was hilarious!
Hudson isn't looking at the camera....but I do think it's sweet of him looking at Gracyn. This one will have to do. :)

Easter at Mimi & Pop's

Thanks to Pinterest, I made this carrot for our front door.
I thought it turned out pretty cute!
We went over to Mimi & Pop's for Easter lunch after church. The kids were dying to get out into the backyard to hunt for eggs.
AAAANNNND....they're off!
Gracyn was a girl on a mission.
Hudson welcomed any help.
But he really didn't need it--he found quite a few on his own.
He just needs to learn to be a little quicker. There are a lot of little swipers around...
He got it!What a wonderful day spent with family celebrating the fact that "the tune was enty and Jesus is ALIVE!" (As Gracyn would say!) :)

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny made a visit to our house! He LOVES the after Christmas clearance sales and the dollar bin at Target. ;)
Hudson's goodies....He sure is loving his new set of golf clubs!
Gracyn's goodies....she shrieked with delight when she saw that the Easter Bunny had left her a soccer ball like she wanted. The Toy Story coloring book and princess castle have been hits too. He sure is one smart bunny! :)
Good thing their new markers are washable....Hudson is on the loose! (I realized once they woke up that Hudson was wearing his Christmas pajamas ....we wear them until they don't fit anymore--what can I say?)
He watches her like a hawk...
This was her "pose"...all princessed up with her crown, glove, purse and high heels--hysterical! (Don't you love her Minnie Mouse dress--from Halloween when she was not even two yet! If she can still get it on, it fits--even if it's more like a shirt now! :)
When she went to bed that night, she walked into her room and said, "Oh hi Rapunzel. It's me, Gracyn!" Ha! Then she woke up in the middle of the night crying for Daddy to get that thing out of her room. Silly girl!

Egg Practice

I hid some Easter eggs in the backyard last week while the kids were napping. They LOVED waking up and getting to hunt for them---AND opening them up to find the treats inside!

Hudson hasn't quite got the concept down of gathering eggs first and then looking to see what's inside. We're working on it. ;)
Gracyn has it down pat!
Hudson spotted this one, but wasn't tall enough to get it. I had to remind Gracyn that it wasn't her egg and to let Hudson put it in his basket. We're learning....
