2 Months!

Our sweet baby girl is already 2 months old! I can't believe it!! They have just flown by! She is growing SO fast! She's already wearing 3-6 months clothes! (Her legs are just so long!) Here's where she is:
Head: 15 1/4- 50 %
Weight: 12 lbs- 75%
Height: 23 1/4 in.- 75%

Gracyn got 3 shots at her appointment--no fun at all!! I hated hearing her cry that hard. She had her first cold last week. Sick babies are so sad...watching her try to breathe just broke my heart!I'm so glad that she's feeling better now. She did a great job cooperating with me and letting me take her picture, but as you can see--she'd had enough....

Here she is with her new PJ's on--(size 3-6 months!)

Cousins

Ava loves her "Baby Gay-sin"! She loves to hold her and says "Oh Goodness!" whenever she moves or makes a noise while laying on her lap. If someone else is holding her, she can't get close enough. I can't wait to watch these two grow up to be great friends!

My mom made them matching little gingerman outfits for Christmas. Gracyn lost her pants as soon as we got over to my parents. She had a major diaper disaster! We even had to take her car seat apart to wash it!! Lovely!!

Daddy's Girl

Gracyn is definitely Daddy's little girl! She is a little "Mini-Me"! He is just smitten with her and I love watching them together. It just melts my heart. He is such a wonderful daddy and is a champ at diaper changing!!

Breaking the Rules!!

I was obviously taking a nap while this was going on. Drew hasn't heard about the golden baby rule: "NEVER wake a sleeping baby"....especially if you're just "bored!"HA!

All Smiles!!

Gracyn has just started smiling at us! And these are the real thing....not the fake ones we got when she was itty bitty. :) It is so fun to see her eyes light up and grin from ear to ear when we are talking to her. The first time she did it, Sarah was over taking her picture. I think she got some really good ones of her! Drew was so sad that he missed her first smiles. I told him that he could see them when he got home....but she's all smiled out by then and the colic begins. Poor daddy. So, I got some on our camera for him. She is such a cutie pie--even when she's screaming her head off!!

I'm Back!!

I know, I know....it took me a little while to get back to blogging. Sorry! I've had other priorities- Gracyn and NAPS!! They win out over everything else. Drew has told me to go get a pedicure several times, but I've decided to take a nap instead. (I'm in desperate need of a pedicure though!!) It's taken me a while to get back to feeling like myself again. My knee is still numb....but I really try not to let it bother me. I think it may be getting a little better, or I'm just so used to it now. I'm also numb at the top of my stomach and my back. It was numb while I was pregnant and the feeling still hasn't come back. My doctor said that it would eventually get better. I had no idea all these weird things could happen during pregnancy and afterwards--and they would happen to me!! She is SO worth it though!!

"High Maintenance"

That's the phrase that I have decided to use to describe my sweet little girl. I guess I could say "fussy" or "colicky" but those seem to have such a negative tone. I think "high maintenance" sounds a little better. Drew and I are so in love with our precious baby, but she sure is A LOT of work!! She's not one of those babies that just sits there and coos. (Thanks to Sarah's little Holden I see what she COULD be like :) She has to be moving...constantly! We go from one thing to another all day long. This is one of the things we try.

She loves her bouncy seat (aka, "The Magic Chair") The vibrating feature must be turned on and you have to bounce it with your foot while reinserting her pacifier when it falls out. There's not a whole lot I can do when doing this. (Putting on mascara is quite a challenge!) So, the ironing is piling up along with the dust on my furniture and crumbs on my floor. Oh well, it will get done one day! She has colic in the evenings which is just lovely! If you call me then and I don't answer you'll know why...I won't be able to hear you over her crying! Here she is with her best friend...her passy!
Before....

And after....

She's not high maintenance in every way though...thankfully! She is doing great with feedings and is gaining weight. We go back to the doctor on the 26th for her 2 month check up. On our scale we think she's about 11-12 lbs. She also loves her car seat and falls asleep whenever we go anywhere. (She's been a great little shopper!) She's going 5-7 hours between feedings at night. A few times she's slept through the night. This is SO nice...but a little scary when I wake up and see what time it is and haven't heard her yet. We are loving our new life and she is such a blessing!!
