1st Day of Kindergarten!!!

Here she is...our precious little Kindergartner!! I am still wondering where the past five years went--she was just a baby!! She was SO excited to start her day....but also said that she was feeling nervous.

I tried really hard to keep it together...and failed miserably! It was a rough day! Once we got to school--as we were about to get out of the car, Gracyn hugged me and started to cry--which made me start crying. We pulled ourselves together and then went inside.

Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Greenwood. I can tell how nervous she is with her little smile. Bless her heart. I made her teacher a monogrammed cup to start off the year.

 

They got to play with playdoh once they got unpacked. I knew it was time to leave....but it was so hard to say goodbye!

We gave her one last quick hug and kiss and walked out the door. Hardest.thing.I've.ever.done!!! She didn't look at us because I knew she was fighting crying--she was concentrating on her playdoh. As soon as we got out the door, I started bawling! I was already missing her!! We went to a "Boo Hoo, Yahoo Breakfast" that they were having in the library. I tried to keep myself busy throughout the day--we went to the gym, lunch with friends and then HEB. At the gym, when I went to drop off Hudson in childcare, he started crying and wouldn't let go of me. He just kept saying, "I don't have a friend!" It broke my heart---he was missing sister just as much! We were both crying and sweet Eliana came to the rescue and took Hudson to play with him. He ended up having a great time and finding friends he knew to play with. The time really did go by quickly--but I kept looking at my watch counting down the time to see my baby again!

As soon as I saw her big smile when she walked out the door of school, I teared up again. I was just SO happy to see her! She had a wonderful day and LOVES school! She couldn't wait to go back the next day! We went to Baskin Robbin for ice cream to celebrate that we ALL made it through the day!!

I am SO proud of this little girl. She is truly missed around here, but I know she is having a wonderful time at school and is learning new things and growing every day. I can't wait to see what this year will hold for her!!

Kinder....Here She Comes!!!

Our church does a Kinder box blessing every year on the Sunday before the first day of school. The kinder kiddos go on stage and Ms. Tina gives them a new Bible and box filled with all kinds of school supplies. She talks about each one and how they relate to God's love for us. Then they pray for the kids and their new school year. It's such a sweet time and we are so thankful that Gracyn could be a part of it. She loved being on stage! :)

We went to dinner that evening with Meme and Pop. She said that she was a little nervous about the next day, but enjoyed getting to go out to dinner at Pei Wei.

That night, I gave her a new nightgown to sleep in so she could get some good rest for her big day. But, this wasn't just any nightgown....it was a Frozen gown with Elsa and Anna!! She was THRILLED!!! She just kept thanking me over and over again all night long! She said that she really hopes they have a pajama day at school this year because she can't wait to wear her new nightgown! We read a few back to school books before she went to sleep. One of them was The Kissing Hand--such a sweet book! I drew a heart in her hand for her to remember that I was thinking of her while she was at school.

She woke up the next morning and asked for pancakes for breakfast--so that's what she got!! 

T'was the Last Week of Summer

T'was the last week of summer and what the children kept saying.... "Where are we going, with whom will we be playing?" 

So I looked at my calendar and came up with a plan, to fill it with as many fun things as we can.

On Monday, we packed up our lunches and went over to swim,

At our friend, Kelton's house with all of our friends!

On Tuesday we got to the mall really quick, and the lock to begin the day's magic we did not have to pick!

Gracyn was quick to spot Elsa's dress from the window afar, 

And her day was made when I bought it because she shined like a star!

She also had dance later that afternoon,
 and was happy to dance and see all her friends so soon.

On Wednesday we went to Meme's to play.

We hung out with cousins and had a blast all day!

On Thursday it was to Fiesta Texas we went.

And after a day filled with friends and the heat, we were spent!

 
 
We also went to meet Gracyn's new teacher and visit her class.

If I'm a mess on Monday, please give me a pass!! 

On Friday we went to play in our friends' neighborhood pool.

It was the only way for us to keep cool.

 
So, our summer is over and a new school year has come ..and I wish a great year to all and may it be full of FUN!

Cousin Fun at Morgan's Wonderland

We went to Morgan's Wonderland with the cousins the other day. The kids all had a BLAST!

Decorating Donuts

Every Wednesday night, Krispy Kreme has a craft for kids and donut decorating. The best part about it...it's FREE! Since we live a mile from Krispy Kreme, I thought we'd try it out. The kids had a blast! Who doesn't love a little sugar before bed? :)

This & That

Here's a little bit of this and that....

Hudson loves building cities for his Hot Wheels cars. He could play all day long!

We had a bad storm the other night and these two ended up in our bed. Hudson stole my sleep mask because there was so much lightning and he couldn't sleep.

Everyone loves a trip to the mall so we can play at the Lego store.

Another reason why Hudson loves visiting the car dealership....free donuts!!

We were at Kid to Kid the other day, and Hudson spotted a basketball hoop that fits over the door. He asked so sweetly for me to get it for him...and it would help him with his game. :) He was SO excited that I said yes! He woke up bright and early the next morning at 5:30 am to play basketball--yikes!! The newness has worn off (thankfully) and he's sleeping to his normal time again. :)

We got some new luggage--the kids thought they'd test it out!

Our last time at the summer movie, we went to see Rio 2. I ended up getting a large popcorn for us to share--Hudson "COULDN'T BELIEB!" that I got that big popcorn! They ate the whole thing and I went back for a refill!!

Fun Times at the Lake

We make so many fun memories during the week. It goes by WAY too fast!!

The kids both got a kick out of getting to drive around the neighborhood between our houses. Some were better steerers than others. :)
