Fantastic Friday

Last Friday, Gracyn went to Fantastic Friday at church. You had to be four to be able to go--and she was SO excited!! Ava went with her--which put her on cloud nine!! They went from 5:30-8:30. They ate dinner, did crafts, watched a movie, had snacks and played on the playground. She had an awesome time!! 

While Gracyn was away, Hudson got to go out to dinner with Mommy and Daddy. It was fun to be able to spend some time with him by himself. We ate dinner at a yummy Mexican food place, Lupe Tortilla.

When we got home, we gave Hudson a surprise...his firetruck station. He got several of the other parts of the city for his Hot Wheels cars for his birthday, but we hadn't been able to find the firetruck station--and that was the one that he so desperately wanted. Well, we spotted it the other day at Wal-Mart--and it took ALL I had not to buy it for him right there on the spot!! He wanted it so bad...but he'd already spent all his birthday money. I called Drew later that afternoon and told him about it...and he stopped on his way home from work and bought it for him. We've been waiting all week for the right time to give it to him--and Friday night was it. He was SOOOOO excited!! He thanked us all weekend for getting him his firetruck station. Sweet boy!!

And, as if the day couldn't get any better, Gracyn got to have Ava spend the night!

Gracyn and Hudson both had a great night...what a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!!

Lately...

We let Hudson get root beer, his favorite, for lunch the other day while we were out. He was in HEAVEN!! The rest of the day he just kept thanking us over and over again for letting him have root beer at lunch. Sweet boy! :)

I made some chocolate chip cookies one afternoon and texted this picture to Drew. He got home early that evening....maybe I should make them every day?? :)

This little guy loves to mow...to be just like Daddy!

Gracyn is getting so good at her drawings. Here is a princess she made--I LOVE the crown!! Our driveway is quite colorful these days, and without rain--the collection of drawings is getting larger and larger and she's running out of space!
 
 These kids think it's Christmas when a box arrives--and they aren't necessarily excited about what could be in the box--but by the box itself! We got a new t.v. downstairs and I flattened out the box for them to draw on.

 Gracyn was having the time of her little life!!

Last weekend, we went for a run downtown along the Riverwalk. I just love running down there...it's so pretty! Afterwards, we enjoyed brunch at the Gunther House. These two quickly claimed this rock for their own.

 Hudson decided to make a campfire while we were waiting for our table.

 He puts his hands behind his head a lot--when he's sleeping, playing on the ipad, or watching t.v. I think it's adorable!!

 Gracyn loves her Minnie with all her heart. She made sure she was safe and secure in the car seat when we went to run errands together.

Quick Trip

The kids and I took a last minute trip up to Fort Worth to see friends. It was so much fun to get to spend time with everyone! I miss living there and getting to be with great friends, but I love being able to live close to family. I don't miss all the traffic and congestion at all!!  I just wish we could ALL live in the same place--here, in San Antonio. :) 

The drive up I-35 Sunday afternoon was brutal!! Mental note--DO NOT travel I-35 on a weekend! The kids did great though I have to say. I've never been on a trip with them all by myself. We stopped twice for a potty break and we all got to pick out a treat--I think that was their favorite part! We got to New Braunfels and Hudson said that he was ready to go home....sorry buddy! Five hours is a long time to be in the car, but we had movies and the ipad to get us through it. The drive home during the week, was a breeze!!

We stayed at Monica's house and the kids were so excited to stay at a house with a pool in the backyard! We swam A LOT!! Tara and her kiddos came to swim with us one day. I didn't take any pictures of us with friends! Boo! :(
 
 
 
We did A LOT of playing at parks. One day they played at 3 different parks! The church I used to go to, Richland Hills, has an indoor playscape in the atrium. I met Tara and her sister, Aly, there to play. The kids had a blast together and we got to visit without all 7 of them in our faces--plus it was indoors! Win/win!!

 The kids were up at the crack of dawn every morning.
 
Good thing I took the jogging stroller with me--we went for runs every morning. There's a park right down the street from Monica's and the kids loved playing there. 
 

 
 Of course, we had to stop at Braums for dessert one night. LOVE their mint chocolate chip milkshakes!! I think the kids enjoyed their ice cream too!


We also had to have Grandy's one night for dinner--LOVE those rolls!!
 
 I also got to have lunch with my dear friend, Patty, who was having her baby the very next day. So glad she could squeeze a little time in with us. Here's little Camden....precious little boy!

 What a FUN trip!! We had a great time, but we were all really missing Daddy. We've never been away from him that long! Thanks for having us Moni! We can't wait to go back to your house!

 

3 Year Check-Up

Hudson had his 3 year old well check. They love going to see Dr. Cevey!

I came armed with supplies...Gracyn had her princess stickers to decorate the paper with, and  Hudson had his collection of cars. I made a city and drew roads all over for him to drive his cars on.

They were having so much fun playing, they weren't ready for the check-up! The three year check up is the best one, I think. There aren't any shots....HOORAY!!! :)

OOOPS! Daddy poured a bit too many bubbles into the bathtub!

They didn't seem to mind a bit!! :)

Playing in the Rain

"It's raining, it's pouring---hurry up and get our umbrellas out and our rain coats on Mommy!!" We had quite a bit of rain at the beginning of the summer...and these two couldn't have been happier!!

They LOVE playing in the puddles--any excuse to get outside and romp around in the rain!

I'm so thankful they have such a wonderful Daddy who will take them out to play in the rain while Mommy gets to stay clean and dry! :)

I sure do love these two!!

Keeping Cool

We've been trying to stay cool in this heat. 

 

Hudson sure does wear the "Mr. Cool" look well.

Gracyn is happy to draw and create...

...and as long as Hudson doesn't spray her masterpieces with water, then she's a happy camper! :)

We went over to Meme & Pop's to play in their sprinkler and swim in the hot tub. Hudson really liked spraying me and Pop with his water gun. He thought it was SO funny!

And then Pop got the water hose and sprayed him back. He loved it!!

He was done swimming and ready to go back inside and put back on his striped shorts!!! Oh those stinkin' shorts!! :)

Dive In Movie

Our gym, Lifetime Fitness, had a Dive-In Movie night. They were showing Monsters Inc. Even though it started at 8:15--(which is bedtime), I thought we'd give it a try.

They both LOVED it!! 

 

Being able to swim in the dark was just about the coolest thing Gracyn had ever done! I do have to brag on Drew....he was in & out of the water the whole time while I got to just sit there and relax. I didn't even wear my bathing suit! :) It's the little things in life.... :)  We can't wait until they have another one!!

Wildlife Zoo

I found these pictures and had totally forgotten to post them! Drew took Hudson to the Wildlife Zoo back when I took Gracyn to see Disney on Ice. He and Hudson had a fun date too!! And, Hudson LOVED it!!

He was so brave and fed the animals out of his hand.
