Hudson's Arrival

Here are a few pictures of Hudson's arrival. If I had to choose which delivery was better....I'd have to say it would be Hudson's. It all happened so fast and before I knew it, he was here. The recovery hasn't been too bad...the hardest part is not being able to pick up Gracyn and do things for her. It's even hard for her to sit in my lap--she just can't stay still for long! As long as I take my medicine, I'm feeling pretty good. We're just trying to get used to life with a newborn again......and a 19 month old! :)

I had hoped that Hudson would at least look a little bit like me....but he's handsome just like his Daddy! I think he and Gracyn look like each other and of course their Daddy.....

Meeting Big Sister

Gracyn got to hold Hudson today for the first time...she's so sweet with him. She gets so excited to see "BABY!" She just says, "Hi Baby" over and over again. She's doing really well adjusting to Mommy and Daddy not being at home. Grandmom is filling in and Gracyn is loving all the attention she's getting from her. She comes and goes from the hospital so easily....blowing kisses and waving bye-bye. We're doing well too....trying to get used to life with a newborn again. I promise to try and keep the pictures coming......

He's Here!!

Hudson Ryan Herron is here!! He was born on June 25th at 6:35 am . He weighs 7 lbs. and 13 oz. He is20.5 inches long. Heather is doing great!

The BIG Day!

So, the BIG day is tomorrow! My C-Section is set for, Friday, June 25th at 6:00 am!! I'll be the first one that morning and have to be there at 4:00 am!! YIKES! At least I won't have to think about it all day, waiting for it to happen and not get to eat anything. My doctor said that Hudson would be here by 6:30 am--much better than the wait I had with Gracyn...24 LONG hours of labor!! I just can't believe that he'll be here tomorrow!! I feel like this pregnancy has really flown by....I guess it helped that we started out already 2 months into it. :)

If you ask Gracyn where Baby Hudson is, she'll pat my tummy. She also will give him a hug and kiss....but I don't think she has any clue that there is really a baby in there. She's in for a real surprise!!
I'm REALLY ready to NOT be pregnant anymore. So glad that the end is in sight!! :) I feel bad that I've hardly taken any pictures of me pregnant this time around and took a ton with Gracyn. I guess the novelty has worn off! :)

I'll try and post some pictures sometime on Friday...so check back and see our new little man!! :)

Getting Crafty

Maybe it's because I'm nesting...but I have really been into making little shirts and hair accessories for Gracyn. I really think that I know I won't have time for anything like this once Hudson gets here, so I'm trying to get all my craftiness out to last a while. Anyways, whatever the reason, I'm enjoying it and love looking at my little model! :)

Gracyn's 16 Month Pictures

My friend, Sarah, took some amazing pictures of Gracyn a few months ago. It's so hard for me to choose which ones will go on the wall and which ones have to come down to make room for the new ones. Such a hard job to do!!

It's D-O-N-E!!!

It's FINALLY done!!! (The nursery that is--I'm just about done too though! :) The painting is finished, all the furniture has been put together and everything has been hung on the walls! YEA! It all came together...and just in the nick of time too! (A little too close my liking though.) Here are some pictures....

Here's the view from walking in the door. We still need to get some of the basics...changing pad cover, pacifiers, etc. (It's on my list of things to do....)

There is a chocolate brown chenille rocker & ottoman that goes in the corner where the hippo is. We're leaving it downstairs until we move him up to his room. I will definitely use it more downstairs where I need to keep an eye on his big sister when I'm feeding him. :) I decided the other night that an empty wall needed a message board, so I'm in the process of getting that done. I've got all my materials...just need the time to get it completed! :) There's only so much I can get done during nap time--especially when I need one too! :)

So Pretty....

Gracyn likes to pretend putting on lipstick with her toy. She puts it on her lips and then smiles at me and says "so peeee." (So pretty!) I couldn't agree more! :) She watches me so closely though, and I don't even realize it. She knows where all my make-up goes on her face when she picks it up. I'm no fun though, and don't let her really put any of it on. I'm sure there will come a day when she'll do it when I'm not looking and will make a nice little mess for me to clean up! :) But for now, we'll stick with the toys and pretend.

Who's That?

We were looking for shirts for Daddy for Father's Day, and Gracyn had a blast playing in the mirror. She couldn't get over the fact that everywhere she looked, she saw herself. But, I don't really think she knew it was her. She kept trying to touch her reflection and was babbling away at herself. It was hilarious to watch!

"Hi Baby!"

When Tara and Liza came to visit, Gracyn couldn't get enough of Baby Liza. She would go up to her wherever she was and say, "Hi Baby!" (Over and over again!) She asked where she was whenever she couldn't see her. She was so sweet with her too...trying to love on her and give her hugs and kisses. I hope this is a nice glimpse of what's to come....we shall see. :) She was trying to put Liza's shoes on her.

Hudson's Showers

Back in April, I took a trip to Dallas for a Girl's Weekend. (My first weekend away from Gracyn and Drew's first time to keep her all by himself.) Everyone had a GREAT weekend!! My sweet college friends threw me a surprise baby shower. What a treat....so many goodies for our new little guy. I've been so blessed by their friendships over the past 14 years!
Then, this past weekend, my sister and sweet friends, Jamie & Mandi, threw me a shower for Hudson at a yummy cupcake shop. He got some cute little outfits and other fun stuff and now we're just getting things ready for the new little boy coming to live at our house!! (Very soon I might add...) :)

Some of the decorations. Ava was dying to taste the cupcakes. She waited VERY patiently! :) My best friend, Tara and her new baby Liza, came to town for the shower--what a treat!! Ava helped me open all my presents. She made me close my eyes while she was opening them so I'd be surprised. :) Mimi and sweet little Liza. My mom made Gracyn a new little outfit to wear on the BIG day!
