Party Time!

We've been busy with birthday parties the past few weekends. Gracyn went to Ainsley, Addison and Ella's Princess "Glam" Party. All the little girls got to pick out princess dresses when they got there. Then they had their hair done in an "up-do." But, Gracyn refused to let them touch her hair. She did let them spray glitter all over her hair though. She's VERY particular about things--her hair being one of them. I can only do it one way--with a little pony tail to the side with a bow. That's it--no pig tails, pony tails....nothing. But, at least she always HAS to have a bow in! :) Then they got their make-up done, but Gracyn wasn't real thrilled with having someone put stuff all over her face. She did end up with a little on.
They also got their nails painted too. She was SO excited about this and had her color picked out and waited so patiently.
It was so fun to see her so excited and feel so pretty. Princess Gracyn had a GREAT time!!
Then we went to Zach's Messy Birthday Party. Hudson and Gracyn had a blast getting dirty! They played in the sand and water, wrote with sidewalk chalk, played on the swing set and made playdough. What a fun day!
Happy Birthday to our friends!!

My Little Book Worm

Hudson has really turned into a little book worm. He'll just sit down by himself and look at the books. The teacher in me is loving it!! He's always getting a book and bringing it over for us to read to him. Gracyn will even sometimes read him a book-and that just makes my heart melt! I'm so happy that he loves to read and pray that his love for books continues!

Playing Together

Gracyn and Hudson are playing together a lot more these days. I love hearing them playing and laughing together. They are definitely learning how to press each other's buttons too--just as any good brother or sister would. :)

The Cozy Coupe Car is a hit around here. I often think about getting another one because it is in such high demand between the two of them. But, it's so big and I really don't want it taking up any more space in the parking lot (aka, dining room.) I'll give a play by play of what went on here the other day--a typical scenario.

Gracyn hops into the car, which of course, now Hudson wants too. She locks the door so he can't get in.
So, he decides to go play with the car shopping cart. Well, Gracyn can't stand him playing with that, so she gets out to go get the cart from him. She likes to go out the window and not unlock the door so Hudson still can't get in. Nice....
Hudson spots a vacant car and starts running toward it.
Gracyn is proud to have her shopping cart back to herself, only to realize that Hudson has now gotten to the car.
She races over to try and get in first. (Lots of screaming going on here by the way...)
Hudson successfully maneuvers himself into the driver's seat first. So, Gracyn eventually gives up and lets him have the car.
But, with one trick left up her sleeve, she finds his beloved Mickey and tries to taunt him out of the car with it. I can say this about my daughter, she is quite persistent and creative in trying to get what she wants.
Luckily, Mommy FINALLY came in to make peace. Hudson got his Mickey back and Gracyn found something else to play with. Everyone is happy....for the next few minutes anyways. :)

Gracyn-isms

I've had this written for the longest time, and just keep forgetting to post it. I wanted to write some things down that Gracyn says that cracks us up right now before I forget them. She is such a funny little girl!

She's says a "t" sound for a "k" sound. I love it when she says,
"Otay!" for okay.
"Tome on Mommy!" for Come on Mommy
"Titty Tat" for Kitty Cat
"Too-tee" for cookie
"milt" for milk
"Teentabell" for Tinkerbell

If something isn't the way it's supposed to be, she'll say, "That's not right..."

She's says "Alright" ALL the time. I've wondered where she got that--and then heard myself saying it and realized that I say it a lot and she must've got it from me!

She's also started saying, "Hold on," "Hold still" and "Just a minute" when we ask her to do things--she sure does pick things up quick!

She'll say, "Guess what Mommy/Daddy? I love you!!" Music to our ears!!

She's already planning her next birthday party. Everything she sees that she likes these days she'll say she wants it for her birthday--we'll see what sticks. She's pretty stuck on having a Toy Story party and wants to be Jessie for Halloween.

When you ask her where something is and she doesn't know, she'll say, "It's hiding."

She loves to build "barms" (barns) for her toys by stacking up blocks and putting a book on top. She also likes to build big "barms" using chairs, couch cushions and blankets for her to hide under. She usually asks me to help build her a "barm" at least once a day. :)

Minnie & "Bonki" (Blankey) are her two prized possessions. She told Drew that she loved her blankey more than Drew and me!! She's pretty attached!

She wears her sunglasses everywhere! If she gets out the door without them, she'll run back in yelling that she needs her "sunbasses." If we're already driving, she'll yell, "Stop the car Mommy! Turn around!" So, we now have spare pairs stashed away in both cars and all backpacks & diaper bags!

OH, HOW WE LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL!!!!

Peek-a-Boo!

Hudson loves to climb into the cabinet of the armoire in our bedroom. He has so much fun crawling in and out and opening and closing the doors.
Love those little fingers peeking out!
Surprise!!

Gracyn's 1st day of School!

Gracyn's 1st day of school was today! She could not have been more excited!!I had a hard time getting pictures before we left because she was so ready to get there.
Once we got there, she walked right in and started playing.
Hudson made himself at home too.
We had to ask for a hug & kiss good-bye because she was too busy playing! She had a great first day and filled me in on all the things that she did. She colored, painted, played in the gym, read a story about a dog, played with cars, ate her lunch, and rested with Minnie & Blankey. (She was SO excited that they were getting to go to school with her!) I'm so happy that she loves her school and can't wait to go back on Thursday. We're so proud of our big girl!
Here are some flowers that Gracyn and I put together to give to her teachers. As Drew called it, a "be nice to my kid" gift! Ha!

Sweet Dreams

Drew went in to get Gracyn up, and this is what he found. She was out cold...under her bed!I have no idea why she ended up with her head under the bed, and neither did she. (I love how she only has one sock on & Minnie is laying next to her. :)

Rain Boots

Right before nap time the other day, we got a little rain shower. I knew that the water wouldn't last through their naps. So, we put on our rain boots and went to play in the water. I had to snap a few pictures of Hudson before we went outside because he just looked so darn cute in his little froggie boots. There was NO WAY I could've taken pictures of him playing in the water once we got outside. It took both hands to keep him walking and splashing with his feet and not his hands!

He was NOT waiting for me...he was ready to go!
