Best Friends

I really hope Gracyn and Hudson become best friends....that is something that I pray for. We're off to a good start....Until Gracyn decides she'd like to pull him....
...or use Hudson as a pillow.

Christmas Card Picture--Take Two!

Here's our second attempt for a good family picture at the ranch in Guymon.Seriously....it was wearing me out trying to get a good one of all four of us! But, this is what we ended up with.
My good friend, Laura, designed our Christmas card. I just LOVE it! She and her sister are so talented and also print scripture on canvases. All of their profits go towards helping adopting families. Her sister is in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia. Check out their blog to see all the neat things they can do!

Christmas Card Picture--Take One!

We went down to the neighborhood park to try and get a good family picture for our Christmas card...boy was that a disaster! I think Gracyn really likes the control she has when we're trying to take a picture and are begging for her to cooperate. Of course, she does the complete opposite of what we'd like her to do! She's totally two with a mind of her own!!

"I WILL NOT smile!"
"Again with the camera?!"
We did get this good one of Drew and Hudson.
I think this one is my favorite.... "JOY to the world!!"

Look at Me!!

Hudson is on the move!! He's starting to sit up on his own--still wobbly--but the look of accomplishment on his face is priceless!! He loves to see what's going on.
"Wow! I did it!"

He's also started the inchworm crawl. He'll pull his legs underneath him and scoot himself off his play mat. If he sees something he wants....he really gets going and reaches out for it. He's also rolling over all over the place--from his back and front. I really have to keep an eye on him now because he doesn't stay in one place for long! He's growing up SO FAST!!!

Breakfast with Santa

We had breakfast with Santa at church Saturday morning. Gracyn had a GREAT time...

Until she went to sit on Santa's lap. She's been talking all about him and pointing him out whenever she saw him. But she was NOT a fan of the real thing--up close and personal. She was okay sitting on Drew's lap.....
But once he slid her over onto Santa's lap.....she lost it!
Even with the treat of a candy cane, she still wasn't convinced that Santa's lap was a place she'd like to be. Hudson just went along with it.....
Look at the difference a year makes....
Wonder what next year will hold???

"O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...."

"......How lovely are your branches!"
I wondered what Gracyn was going to do with the tree this year....she LOVES it! She couldn't wait to "help" me decorate it. I really do love how they are all in a clump at the bottom of the tree. Drew asked me if I was going to leave it that way, and I don't think I have a choice...she moves them all around all day long to various branches. It's a great source of entertainment. I let her pick out a new ornament at Target the other day....she picked a Dora doll--BIG surprise there. I know I'll love putting it up in 10 years remembering when she was little and obsessed with all things D-D-D-Dora. So, my tree isn't "perfect" this year, but it is in her eyes--and that's ALL that matters! :)

Thanksgiving in Guymon

We spent Thanksgiving in Guymon, Oklahoma this year at Drew's family's ranch. We had a great time with his family. It was a LONG drive (12 hours each way) but so worth getting to spend time with everyone!

We were so excited that Hudson got to meet his great-grandmother, Nanaw!
Gracyn & Pa Pa Ed
Pa Pa Ed, Zayne & GracynGracyn had a great time playing with her Cousin, Zayne.Gracyn loved playing with all the kitty cats. (The cats may disagree!) It may look like she's helping this one up...but actually she's pulling it off the ledge!
I know this is SO WRONG! Drew just let her do it all in the name of getting the pictures! Poor kitty! They kept coming back for more though.....
Gracyn has decided that taking pictures isn't something she'd like to do anymore. It's next to impossible for me to get a good picture of her these days.
Grandmom just wanted ONE good picture of the two of them together for her Christmas card.....unfortunately, it never happened!
