Little Rug Rat!

Gracyn LOVES rugs....of any shape or size! It's the funniest thing to watch her spot a rug and speed crawl over to it. Then she'll touch it all over and then just sit on it. The kitchen is her favorite because I have several different ones for her to choose from. She also loves the stainless steel appliances. They are filthy with fingerprints and drool. She can see her reflection in them and can't get enough of herself! She is such a funny little girl and entertains me all day long!

8 Months!!

Gracyn Kate is 8 months old!! What an amazing 8 months they've been! She's changed so much since we brought her home, and is growing and changing every day! I just love how she is interacting with us now and letting her personality shine! Her "unofficial" weight is 20.5 pounds and she is mostly wearing 12 months clothes. I can attest to the fact that she's ALWAYS been a big girl! :) She is eating great...and likes ANYTHING we put in her mouth! She has 2 little teeth on the bottom and they are so cute just peeking out. She gaining speed on a daily basis with crawling and I have to move quick to get her now. She is pulling up on EVERYTHING and I'm amazed by her reach! She walks around the coffee table and her toys. She is drawn to any cord or power outlet. I've had to take the ends off all the door stoppers...I found one in her mouth! She likes to try to open drawers and doors on the cabinets and chews on the pulls. She loves the fireplace and the stairs--that now have a new gate that is SO annoying! Basically, she loves everything she shouldn't and is into everything!! :) She is still a great sleeper at night, but is a short nap taker. I've tried everything to get her to take 2 long naps a day, but she likes the 30 minute cat naps here and there, so that's what we do! I'll take sleeping great at night to day any time. It just makes it hard to get things done around the house! She's a happy little girl who loves to chatter...wonder where she gets that from?? :) I'm amazed at how much more I fall in love with her every day!! This is the first time she's sat on her little car. She LOVED it! She just sat there and looked around for a while. :) What a big girl!! Her new favorite thing is to pull all her toys out of her basket!

We don't look a thing alike--she really is my daughter...I promise!!! (Please ignore my cheesy smile! I was trying to get Gracyn to smile!)

Rub a Dub Dub, Cousins in the Tub!

Ava had so much fun taking a bath with Graycn! I'm not sure Gracyn knew what to think! She could watch Ava for hours....she's very entertaining and is SO good with her. It's good practice for Ava and her little brother on the way!

Little Fishies!

We went over to Amber's for dinner and the girls got to swim. Gracyn LOVES swimming and Ryan decided to get in with them so I didn't have to. Well....Gracyn did NOT like that idea, so I had to put on my suit and join them. We had a fun time...until Ava bit her tongue and called it quits!

This is my new favorite picture of her. She was still only for a split second, so I was lucky to get it! I love how her cheeks are just resting on the table. ha!

She is pulling up on EVERYTHING! I think I'm a human jungle gym to her! She's also started walking around the coffee table and her other toys. She is such a happy girl! I have so much fun with her and feel so blessed to be able to spend all day with her!! I just love her to pieces!!

Nursery Time!

Well, we finally did it....we took Gracyn to the nursery at church. She's SUCH a busy body and chatter box that we were exhausted when church ended from trying to keep her quiet and happy. I have to admit that I was SO sad to leave her....and thought about her the whole time. She went in there willingly and we watched her for a little bit before we went to sit down and she was really looking at all the other kids and taking it all in and was having fun with the toys. They said that she really enjoyed Bible class too. Drew went to check on her twice and the second time he came back with her. After her diaper change, she lost it and was calming down, but Drew wanted to be the one to comfort her so her brought her back. Church was almost over anyways. It will be interesting to see what she does next week when we drop her off. Here she is on the way home.....

First Little Toofie!!

Gracyn's got her first tooth!! I've been waiting and waiting for this little thing to make its appearance! I feel like she's been teething forever! She bit me on the finger yesterday and it really hurt! I need to be a bit more careful when I put my finger in her mouth to check for more!
Look really close...it's small, but I promise it's there!

Gracyn's New Game

Gracyn has learned a new game...it's called " I can pull up and stand up in my crib, but can't get down...HELP ME!!" It's loads of fun, especially at 12:00 am, 12:15 am, 3:00 am and 5:30 am!! Seriously! I felt like I had a newborn again! I am hoping that she quickly learns how to get herself back down and maybe the newness will wear off and she won't bolt up every time she wakes up. This is how I've found her every time I've gone in there in the last 24 hours. Fun times ahead!! :)

Party Time!

Ryan & Virginia came in town for a party to celebrate them getting married back in May. We had so much fun with all of our family here. I can't believe that I only took a few pictures....someone else occupied all of my time and energy and somehow I forgot to take more pictures! Hopefully I can get some from the others!
How can it be SO hard to get a good picture of the girls!? Now that Gracyn can't sit still, you have to act fast to get her still, smiling, AND looking at the camera...and hope that Ava is doing it all at the same time too! This is as good as I could get!

Sweet Little Sleeper

Don't you just love how sweet a sleeping baby looks! I could watch her all night long!

Have I mentioned that Gracyn is into EVERYTHING?! We bought a child proof kit to put around the fireplace because it's the perfect height where she could really hit her head on the stone. Her favorite thing to do is to take the padding off the fireplace. I don't think that she'd go near it if we didn't have it on there though. She can't stay away!! I'm constantly getting up to move her away.....oh, the fun is just beginning!! :)

Just a sippin'

Gracyn really has drinking out of a straw down pat! She loves to take a sip of my water and looks like such a big girl when she holds her own cup and drinks out of it! I haven't put any milk in there yet, but I'm sure she'd drink it out of there. So, I guess I have my freedom back...funny how I don't have anywhere to go now that I can leave her?? Maybe a trip to the outlet malls might be in my future...
