Gracyn had her Fiesta Float Parade at school. She requested a Peter Pan float--so that's what this Mommy got to work on. I started by making the ship out of cardboard. I taped it together with duct tape, but realized that she wouldn't be able to paint over that. So, I decided to paper mache it with newspaper so it'd be smooth. But the paint might not cover up some of the newspaper, so painted it white so she could then paint it whatever color she wanted to.Whew! They both had a great time painting!
He may have had a little too much fun with the paint...
I'm the first to admit that I spent WAY too much time on this. But, the look on her face when it was done and the countless times she squealed, "This is so FUN!" as we were working on it made it all worth it! :)
Taking it for a test drive.

I thought about putting it up for safe keeping and letting Hudson use it next year because he'll have to make one. He could just repaint it and we'd be done. But, as soon as we got home, Gracyn started playing with it...and continued to play with it all night and first thing the next morning. So, if she wrecks it, I'll know just how to make another one. :) Because chances are, if I save it for Hudson to use---he won't want it!!
