"Dorts"

Hudson LOVES wearing "dorts"  (shorts). He throws an absolute FIT when I've had to put pants on him. (The few times it's been a little cool.) I don't know what I'm going to do when it gets cold! The other day he spilled some water on the shorts he was wearing, so he went upstairs to change them. (He's also enjoying dressing himself these days too--his choices are pretty amusing!) This is what he came down with....

I was wondering at first why he kept "hiking" them up, and then I realized he had them on backwards. I sure do love this little guy!!

Playing

I love watching Gracyn and Hudson play together. They are becoming the best of friends--and can also be the worst of enemies. :) But, isn't that just what brothers and sisters are for?

Hudson was pumping gas into his car, (minding his own business) and Gracyn thought she'd jump on top and take it for a joy ride.
But, Hudson is fast on his feet and jumped in too--gas pumped still attached!
Just chillin' in the backyard enjoying a cup of juice and some goldfish crackers!

Mini Drivers

I just found these pictures on my phone. While we were in D.C., the kids got to take the Mini Cooper for a spin to get the mail. Gracyn was SO excited to get to ride in a convertible!

Hudson was LOVING his time behind the wheel.
He pushed just about every button there was...sorry Grandad! :)
 Time to switch drivers!

1st PONY TAIL!!

It's a MIRACLE!! Gracyn let me put her hair up in a pony tail!!!! (It was a "low" pony tail because she still wanted it long and to feel it on her back--I'll take it!) Her dance teacher said that they needed to wear their hair in a pony tail or a bun while they are dancing to keep it out of their faces. She wasn't too keen on the idea, but she is in LOVE with her dance class and teachers and took to heart what they said. She actually really liked it! She even said that she wanted to wear her hair like that again the next day to school to show her friends and teachers. (She chickened out and said she'd do it the next time! Ha!) This is HUGE though...maybe there's hope yet for braids, pig tails, and other fun "do's"!

Here's a side view..I think she looks absolutely adorable!

Hodge Pogde

She's at it again....this time she picked out her pajamas for the rest of the week--as well as matching socks when she was supposed to be asleep. I've got a little fashionista on my hands....
Another night she got her clothes all picked out. This little girl LOVES to wear dresses! I'm just impressed that she does such a good job at matching her shoes and accessories. Drew's worried that I've created a monster! Ha! :)
They love to practice cutting with their scissors. Gracyn only got to use hers for a few minutes the first time I got them out because she thought she'd see if her scissors could cut her pajama pants--shocker--they can!!
Hudson sat and cut for a good 30 minutes--that's huge!
Although we hate it when Daddy has to work late, we love the chance to get to eat at Luby's--especially on a Wednesday when kids eat free! :)
She insisted on wearing her Strawberry Shortcake hat to eat. She said that everyone would be telling her that she looked so cute. She's one confident little girl!
Hanging out at the Tot Spot at the zoo.

We were getting ready to go somewhere and Hudson ran to get his shoes and backpack. He put them on and yelled, "I'm ready!"
Someone sure did enjoy her powdered donuts for breakfast!
Family movie time because the kids filled up their pom-pom jars! Hudson went to his first movie, "Brave." He did great!
He loved having his own drink and popcorn.

Bowling

I got the kids a new bowling set and Gracyn was quick to get it all set up and ready to play.
Hudson, on the other hand, was not happy that Gracyn was going to play first. This is what he does when he's mad...he crosses his arms, gets a good scowl on his face and yells out, "I'm MAD!"
Then, he'll throw himself down on the ground and cry. Thankfully, it doesn't usually last too long.
He perked right up when it was his turn to go.
Someone's a happy camper now!
