On Saturday,we went took a day trip to Austin. Gracyn has been asking to go for months now and we finally had a free weekend to go. We all got something we loved out of this trip--a win/win for everyone!! We started down by the lake for a 4 mile run. It was fun to have a change of scenery--we SO wish that we had somewhere like that to run here! Then we headed over to the Big Top Candy Shop and the kids got to fill their bags full of all different kinds of gummy candies. Followed by a quick stop at the fire station and then off to get snow cones and cupcakes--dessert before lunch?? Now you know why Gracyn LOVES going to Austin so much! :) Drew wanted to try this barbeque place that he'd heard great reviews about. After at least a 30 minute wait--and a trip to the bathroom in a port-a-potty, we finally got to eat-outside in the heat. (I was a real trooper & only whined once!) I have to admit that it was REALLY good barbeque though and I would say worth the wait. Then we headed out to find a splash pad park for the kids to play. They LOVED it...and again, I wish we had these here in San Antonio!! We ran into a family from church there too--what are the odds of that??

We made a pit stop on the way home at the Outlet Malls. I only got to go to two stores--do you know how hard it is to leave a shopping haven only having been to two stores? But, two is better than none and I didn't walk away empty handed. :) Having the kids and Drew in tow did make me a quick shopper--I think Drew would prefer that anyways. I thought for sure these two would crash in the car on the drive home....no such luck!

We came home and took baths, put on our pajamas and crawled into our pillow beds to watch Peter Pan. What a great way to end a day filled with fun memories!
