He's TWO....my baby is TWO!! How can that be possible when I
just brought him home from the hospital yesterday?! The past two years have F-L-O-W-N by! What joy this little guy has brought our family!! Here are some things that I want to write down to remember what Hudson was like at two years old.He likes to tell me that he's two. "Mama, I twoooooooo!" He's still trying to get his fingers right....
*Daddy is his new best friend. If Drew is around, he'll pick him over me--which is just fine by me. Gracyn will nearly always want me, so it's nice to even things out. He wants Drew to put him to bed just about every night. He asks for him all day long.."Dada, work?" He loves to talk to him on the phone. He's pretty smitten with him--and his Daddy feels the same way.
*He's really good at eating just about anything right now. Neither one
of my kids have been big breakfast eaters. He LOVES any kind of
meat--but preferably steak. We're going to have to start buying one for
him too because he eats so much!
*He loves to laugh--and I love hearing that sweet little giggle. He's SO ticklish and burst into giggles like crazy!
*Hudson is really starting to talk so much more. I've always known that he's understood me, but he's just not been real chatty. I guess having Gracyn, "Miss Chatty Patty," to compare him with and talk for him hasn't been too good for him. His favorite color is yellow--and it sounds so cute when he says it! My favorite thing that he says right now is, "Oh, maaaan!" It cracks me up every time! I thought he must have picked it up from Swiper the Fox on Dora--but then I caught myself saying it, so maybe I'm the one who swiped it from Swiper? :)
*Hudson is definitely letting us know that he's two! He has an opinion about things...and when he doesn't like something, he'll be sure to let you know. I'm talking flailing on the floor temper tantrums! Gracyn didn't do it
this much, so we're on new ground here. My go-with-the-flow, easy going baby is pretty much gone these days. :( Here's a face I get often--the eyebrows are usually more furrowed, I snapped the picture a little too soon--....followed by a "Nooooo Mommeeeee!"
*He's such a little cuddle bug. He climbs up in my lap or puts his arms up to me and says, "hode me Mama." Melts.my.heart. He'll sit SO close to you on the couch--practically in your lap and just lean into you and suck his thumb--so content to be right next to you. Sweetest thing! He loves to give out hugs and if someone gets hurt or he accidentally hurts you, he's so quick to say "Sowy" and will give you a kiss. He's so good at saying thank you too--for little things like getting him a snack or a cup of milk, helping him put in his shoes or saying "Bless you" after he sneezes. He's such a precious boy!
*And he's definitely learning all things boy these days. He LOVES construction vehicles ("dig-a-dig-a-dig-a" for diggers) and cars and trucks. He's also really into sports, particularly basketball. But, he can set up shop and enjoy a tea party just as well. :) I will add this picture so you can see what I'm dealing with on a daily basis--my little Al Bundy! We've had to start double diapering him all the time now because he'll push his diaper so far down or it will come loose and then his clothes will get all wet when he goes potty. I had to change his clothes 4 times one day--that led to the double wrap. I can't even tell you how many times I have to say, "hand out" during the day!! When the thumb goes in, the hand goes down!
*We don't go for his 2 year check up until later in the week. I'll update his stats later on. But, he's really gotten so tall lately! He's turning into a little boy right before my eyes!!
*Not to leave sister out....she was quite put out that this little photo shoot wasn't all about her. So we went into her room to snap a few pictures...now that Hudson is getting older, they are really becoming such good friends. Goodness, I love these two!!
